Unit 4- making relevant connetions with geometry
In this unit students are expected to
Learning Targets: 7.GSR.5.1 Measure angles in whole nonstandard units. 7.GSR.5.2 Measure angles in whole number degrees using a protractor. 7.GSR.5.3 Use facts about supplementary, complementary, vertical, and adjacent angles in a multi-step problem to write and solve equations for an unknown angle in a figure
7.GSR.5.5 Given the formula for the area and circumference of a circle, solve problems that exist in everyday life.
7.GSR.5.7 Describe the two-dimensional figures (cross sections) that result from slicing three-dimensional figures, as in the plane sections of right rectangular prisms, right rectangular pyramids, cones, cylinders, and spheres. 7.GSR.5.8 Explore volume as a measurable attribute of cylinders and right prisms. Find the volume of these geometric figures using concrete problems
Module 8- Lesson 1 Vertical and Adjacent Angles Students will identify vertical and adjacent angles and use what they know to find missing values. Module 8- Lesson 2 Complementary and Supplementary Angles Students will identify complementary and supplementary angles and use what they know to find missing values. Modules 8- Lesson 5 Three-Dimensional Figures Students will analyze three dimensional figures Module 9- Lesson 1 Circumference of Circle Students will use radius and diameter to find circumference. Module 9- Lesson 2 Area of Circles Students will find the area of circles. Module 9-Lesson 3 Area of Composite Figures Students will find the area of composite figures Module 9-Lesson 4 Volume Students will find the volume of prisms and pyramids. Module 9-Lesson 5 Surface Area Students will find the surface area of prisms and pyramids. Module 9- Lesson 6 Volume and Surface Area of Composite Figures Students will find the volume and surface area of composite figures. |
